Highlighting the BRAVE-F Project with CBC News

At Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health (CERH), we are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our rural communities. One of our key initiatives, the BRAVE-F (Benefitting Rural Area Volunteer Emergency Firefighters) Project, focuses on the health of rural volunteer firefighters; everyday heroes who selflessly serve their communities but often face unique health challenges.

We are thrilled to share that CBC News has featured our BRAVE-F Project in a recent article. The piece highlights how this important initiative is shedding light on the hidden health struggles of rural volunteer firefighters, with a particular focus on promoting cardiovascular health through medical screening and education.
