Sage Milne, Research Assistant presents at the Goderich Lions' Club

On May 9th, 2024, the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health (CERH)'s research assistants, Amy Sturgeon, Joel Hordijk and Sage Milne presented to the Goderich Lions' Club. This presentation featured some of the Gateway CERH latest projects including: Legion Learning & Lounge, SHED Talks, SHARP and BRAVE-F

The projects' purposes include adding technology and social support for seniors, promoting wellbeing for agricultural workers, attracting and retaining skilled healthcare workers and promoting the health of volunteer firefighters respectively.

The Goderich Lions' Club has been a great supporter of SHARP through the use of Camp Klahanie, a wonderful camp ground, for the Discovery Healthcare Camp (DHC). The DHC is a weeklong summer camp for high school students to learn practical skills and pathways to healthcare. Registration for the DHC for 2024 is open.
